Today has been calmer than yesterday... no twister's yet (knock on wood)! I have been working and running on the very minimum amount of sleep, but that is ok! It is a good day just the same!
The only stressful factor has been car shopping, which, I would very much prefer to be over! But, this is a learning experience, and in the end I hope to have a car! But, I am being very careful and making sure to check out everything before I jump into a deal!
In writing news, my writers block has officially vanished! I have been having an enormous amount of ideas popping into my brain lately! It is crazy what I can think of in an hour! I am being careful to write all ideas down and keep track, but so far nothing is completed! I am still working with publishing information, but plan to take it slow this weekend to have fun!
Work is going great, I am learning to work with course reserves which is the more difficult aspect of my job, but I am slowly picking it up!
Other than that, life is good! My mother made it into town safe and finally found a parking space! ;0) I am ready for a good weekend! Oh, and my main plan for this weekend is to continue the secret birthday plotting plans! Which, I might add, are coming along nicely! Though I must not say more than that. After all, it's secret!
Well, off I go, I need to finish a few things and get the library ready to close for the day! Until I write again...stay creative and out of trouble!

Had to Be There!
I know that I promised not one, but two posts...however, I have not had a chance today! Things have been hectic again and I am trying to get things completed before I head out for the weekend (yes, it is MY Friday)!
The first major issue would be that when the sun first peeked over the horizon this morning, I was awake! I could NOT sleep last night! I had to clean, and I wanted to complete some homework ahead of time so that I could enjoy the weekend while my mom was visiting, and then of course Kathy was there so we spent a large portion of time laughing so hard we were crying (literally)! I am afraid that the moments we experienced through the night cannot be properly expressed through writing as they were all very much "had to be there" moments! However, I'm going to try my best!
I had planned to go straight home yesterday after work to get ready for this weekend. However, the universe had different plans! I started the day by trying on almost every outfit I owned trying to find the "right" ensemble for work (for reasons that lead to yet another long story)! Then, after settling for one of the last things I threw on, I plastered my face with the usual makeup and threw my ruffled hair into a clip before rushing out the door; barely remembering to lock it!
Work was the same as usual until a few hours in! That is when the chaos began! We had a situation where a book went missing, which, to someone who doesn't work in a library, probably doesn't seem like such a big deal. However, this particular book had been returned because it had a hold placed on it. On of the students checked it in and placed it on the shelf, ready for the next patron. HOWEVER, 10-15 minutes later when he came back for it, it was gone! That was the start of a rather long and drawn out search for a book that we would later discover another student checked out! Bye the time we figured out the entire process, my co-worker and I were in tears we were laughing so hard! Unfortunately, most of the laugher was in the moment and cannot be captured here in this blog! But basically, it was just the tip of a days worth of franticness.
After this, I decided I would take my lunch break and headed out for an hour. I made it to the little diner only after spending 20 minutes in a little bakery shop I discovered and purchasing a ladybug cake pan (I couldn't leave without it)! While eating, an "urgent news break" came over the radio. An escaped convict had been spotted in Emporia! The excitement continued; and I hurried back to work!
On the way back to work, I twisted my ankle and cut it open along the edge of my shoe (don't ask me how I managed that)! So, I hobbled 1/3 of the way there and had blood all over the back of my white shoe! But I made it!
While I was trying to get myself situated with the first aide kit, a patron who, likes to cause trouble, to say the least, decided to make this day the day he would be a problem. That alone took 10 minutes and an extreme amount of patients to handle!
Then, two of my co-workers headed home and I thought (<<
After releasing all of our patrons, we aimed for a calmer evening.... but everyone was on their toes for the remainder of the evening!
After work, Kathy decided she was coming over (which was fine with me, I love the company)! We ran by the grocery store because it was close, but then decided we needed to go to Wal-Mart. One hour later we left with the toilet paper we needed and about other things we decided we "needed!"
It took awhile to clean, but then I started making the cake! If you didn't know, I love making cakes! This is the one thing I can cook, and furthermore, love to make! I especially love decorating. However, this does not change the fact that I am a klutz! After making the frosting recipe two times, I began to decorate the cake, however, in the end, it was myself that was decorated when the frosting bag exploded! Pink frosting covered my face, and giggles filled the room! However, I eventually was able to complete the task! BUT, in the process I ate half the frosting that I made, and.... that may have been why I was so wide awake!
Overall, the night was great! It was a fun way to end such a crazy and stressful day! Or more appropriately, a "sweet" way to end the day!
So that was Wednesday! It seems rather dull in writing, but, as I pointed out, you really just had to be there!

Hi all! It's Thursday!
I am planning on putting a blog on here for yesterday because it truly was a "blog-able" day! (Yes I made that word up but I can do that! It's MY blog)! I will be putting up yesterday's and today's blog later today! I need a chance to write it!
My mother is coming to visit and will be here later today! That is exciting! And I made a cake last night that looks like a ladybug (pictures to come soon) just for fun! I may not be able to cook the best food, but when if comes to cakes and cookies I am awesome! The cake turned out great!
Anyways, I have to get back to work, but look for the two new blogs later this evening!
Creatively as always,
Kat

Sad news.... again....
Ok, I am officially doubting that I should ever have kids! Conrad died (I think he died from a broken heart after losing his sister). I came home last night and went over to say hi (yes, I say hi to my fish), and he was belly up. So, I officially (or in this case "o-fish-ally") have no fish left! I haven't decided if I am going to get more. If, and that is a really big IF, I decide to... I think I will get a tank instead of a bowl. The guy at Wal-Mart recommended the fish bowl but I think that something with a filter and bubbles is going to be my best bet! That and maybe a fake fish! Whatever the case, I am going to wait awhile before adopting anymore water dwelling pets! I'm also thinking I might try getting a plant instead! I'll let you know how (and if) that turns out!

Yet Another Update... :0)
This is basically just an update of my life! After all, I know you are all just dying to know! <<
I still love my job and I am pretty much settled into my new life! The first few weeks were really difficult, and there were a few nights that it was too quiet and the being alone got to me, which resulted in tears; but, I am used to it now. Things are smoothing out, and I love my new life!
It's really weird, because I remember talking to my best friend on the phone the last few weeks of school and discussing how all I wanted was one new start! A chance to break away from all the crap, take the good with me and start new. I wanted a major life change... and now, here I am, sitting in the middle of it!
It's almost like finding a gem! In order to discover it, you have to be willing to dig! Furthermore, even when you do find that gem, you have to take the time to work with it, clean it up, and sand and polish it until it fits what you are wanting.
Graduating and moving to a new town; finding my own apartment and landing the Library Assistant Job... these were all gems I had to dig for. Then, I had to take what I found and make it work! The job was the easiest part... it took learning quite a bit and some training, but now it is great! The apartment was the hard one to adapt too. I loved it right off the bat! But I felt like I was playing an over-sized version of house! The hardest part of all was how quite it was. I constantly had the radio playing just to cut into the silence! Also, the first few weeks, I watched an insane amount of movies! Enough that the people at Family Video now know me by name! It's still pretty quiet, but I am getting used to it! I love going to work because it gets me out of the house. However, I can't be at work 24 hours a day! But that is ok! Once in awhile I get to hang out with my two friends that live in town (pretty much my second family…you can never have enough)! Then there is class, which isn’t exactly a lot of fun, but it keeps me pretty busy. Then there is my friend Kathy and I, who are becoming adjoined at the hip once again! We manage to find ourselves in quite a few adventures! Mostly ending up at Wal-Mart, or having sleep-over that keep us up WAY too late! The other night we watched a scary movie (that turned out to not be as scary as we had hoped), but we still freaked each other out. Last week we attempted to make cinnamon rolls... attempted being the key word! We discovered really late that we didn't have cinnamon (kind of important for this recipe)! So the process took a total of 2 days to complete! But in the end of all our adventures, we usually have some pretty great and unforgettable memories!
While these things have all begun to fill in my time, I will be the first to admit that the last few weeks haven't been all sunshine. But the clouds are starting to fade! I find myself automatically switching into entertainment more, getting creative with things to do! I have replaced normal walking with dancing (as I usually have my MP3 Player on), and I clean A LOT! Better yet, I have come up with some pretty amazing (in my opinion) children’s stories that are on my work-board! In fact, I am more on top of my writing than I have ever been in my entire writing career! The process is tedious, but it's fun! My desk is covered in a (organized) mess of papers; writing books, printouts of submission requirements, boxes of envelopes, files, etc, etc, ETC! The largest portion of my spare time is spent there! Preparing for the 14th of July, which is 7 DAYS AWAY!
So, as you can see, the quiet factor is beginning to lose its fear factor! My writer’s block is slowly dissolving, and new adventures are popping up everywhere! It’s been a bumpy road, but I think things are finally smoothing out and I have a pocket full of gems! But right now I need to get back to work! Hope everyone’s day is going great! If not, keep your head up! Things will get better…eventually! Just keep taking one step at a time!

A Bit of Sad News
Unfortunately, Sally the fish has...um... passed on to a better life. She officially lived longer than any other fish I have ever had though! Well, except for Conrad who, when I left this morning *CROSSES FINGERS*, was still flipping around in his bowl! I spent 15 minutes trying to convince myself that she was just taking a really really long nap.... upside down (yeah I know, it was a far stretch)! But, she never woke up, obviously!
I "flushed" her properly and said a few words (which pretty much consisted of... "I'm sorry for flushing you down a toilet"), and my heart did kind of hurt! I feel bad for Conrad because he kind of floats around and is sad and depressed! Is it possible for a fish to be depressed?! Ha! Seriously through, Conrad is special. He likes to run into the corner of the fishbowl because he sees his reflection. He will do that for 5-10 minutes until he gets bored, and I (the easily entertained human) will sit and just watch (when I should be working on my manuscript at my desk! What can I say? Some days, I'd like to join him in the head banging! Ha ha ha!
Sally will be missed, and it seems wrong that their is a Conrad and no Sally! But I will be getting a new fish on payday! And, for those of you who are curious, it too will have a name from one of Dr. Seuss' books! But that, my friends, will have to be a surprise!

First Book Review: "Oink?" by Margie Palatini
I did get to read a few children's books this weekend as well. I decided I would pick my favorite to review! So here it is!
Oink? by Margie Palatini and Illustrated by Henry Cole
This book was definitely cute! The first thing that catches your eye is the illustrations which are very colorful and big! As you read, you quickly discover many intriguing characters, including the two main characters, Thomas and Joseph; two pigs who are "sloppy, lazy and dirty."
The book is about the two pigs who are happy being lazy, and their neighbors who aren't okay with this. A decision that motivates them to attempt to make the pigs lives better in the way of health and cleanliness.
In this cute story, the reader is presented with the lesson that looks aren't what you should judge people (or in this case animals) by. Joesph and Thomas may appear to be lazy and sloppy to their neighbors, but the reader soon learns otherwise.
Overall this was a very cute book. It is a very simple story that grabs the readers attention. I feel that it would be great for children anywhere between 4 to 8 or 9.

Boom, Bang, Whoooosshh went the weekend!
Here I am, back at work already! The 4th of July weekend went by fast! Nevertheless, it was a good break. Other than a few fireworks and some great food, not much went on! I decided I would spend my remaining days off relaxing, and that's exactly what I did! I read quite a bit, finishing a book called The Fairest, written by the author who's last name is Levine. The same author who wrote the ever popular Ella Enchanted (one of my favorites)! This book was not as good as Ella's story, but it was pretty good. After all, I read it over the course of two days, meaning it kept me coming back until the very last page! I am really into the world of fantasy right now. Especially when it has to do with fairies, gnomes and other so called "mythical" creatures. I think this is because this is the theme of my own current novel in the works. Therefore reading books of that nature put me in the mood to create worlds of my own!
Overall, it was a really great weekend! Now it's back to work!
