Regardless of which state you reside in, what age you are, what race or sex, or religious practice you follow..... if you live in the United States of America; the following 24 hours will change your life. As I write this, millions of Americans are standing in line, waiting for a the chance to make the choice they have debated endlessly for the last few months. Teens are practicing their right to "rock the vote," making choices that could be the biggest they have made so far. It is the Presidential Election of 2008, and it is one that will go down in history.
I will be spending the evening at the Emporia Court House to watch it all unfold. Personally, I have already voted. An experience that was amazing in itself! Tonight I will be helping my friend cover the story for the newspaper, taking photos, and hopefully (if I have Internet) writing of my experiences here; and of course, I will come here and post as soon as I know who will be our new president.
This year every vote, every voice counts in a phenomenal way! We have seen the comedians compare the candidates, make fun of their weaknesses and push out their strengths. We have heard the talk show hosts analyze each candidate from point A to Z; and the rock stars sing about who they endorse. No matter where you turn, you will hear about the election. But what is important right now? YOU! Get off of the computer, out of your chair, and out of your apartment! If your old enough, GO VOTE! If your too young, make sure those in your life that can vote, have! It's no longer up to the famous, or those who have access to the mass media. The final decision rests in your hands. You have the right, you have life, and you have the voice. So go vote...let's make history together. Meet you at the polls!
Creatively yours,
Kat
