Back Soon!

Things have been a little crazy for multiple reasons... but the main one is that classes are coming to an end and the great and wondrous finals time (sarcasm) has brought itself upon us all. I have been trying to keep up with everything but once again had to push blogging and a few other things to the side! I will be back, starting next weekend, with a long update blog (especially about the best Thanksgiving I think I have EVER had)! Until then, stay creative and warm! It's pretty chilly here!

Let the Countdown Begin!

I board the plane in t-minus 14 hours! I have the car completely packed (with the exception of the guniea pig who I will go pick up on my way out of town) and the the tank is full! Also, I have the camera, I-Pod and laptop all charged and ready to go (I plan to work on a few different writing pieces on the plane) .... and I am less than 4 hours away from hitting the turnpike to my first stop! Kat is on her way to Florida!

Ready to Fly...literally!

Things have been busy as we near the end of the semester and the holidays! I have been busy trying to get everything caught up for my classes, and at work. I also have been getting ready for my trip! I leave in one day to see my best friend in Florida! I have been counting down for this for over 2 months now! Time seems to have flown by! Now, I have to hurry to get things done and I couldn't be more excited! I miss Heather like crazy and we are going to have a blast!

Other than that, things have been moving along, and new good things are popping up everywhere. Not everything has to do with writing, but life is good! I'm smiling so I can't complain!

I will keep a blog on my trip as I have promised more than one person I would! I also will be working like crazy to get my NaNo completed on this trip because I find myself no where near close! But I know I will get it done! Look for another blog to follow specifically about that!

So there is a quick update, I am pressed for time tonight but wanted to poke my head in! Summary... life is good!

Creatively yours,
Kat

Kickin' it with Corduroy! Kansas Reads to Preschoolers Day at ESU!

I am not a morning person! But yesterday, getting up a little earlier than usual was worth it for sure! It was Kansas Reads to Preschoolers Day at ESU and I volunteered to help out! Not just help out with little things either... I got to be the reader! That would be combining my two favorite things! Children and reading! Let me tell you it was a great way to start my Wednesday morning!

I had the opportunity to work with 3 different age groups; each of which had their own little personalities and different energy levels! The first group (maybe 2 or 3 year olds) was hyper! The second group was a little better, able to sit and listen to the story! Then the third group came (maybe 5 year olds) and they were great! They were quiet, all ears, and listening so well up to the third page when Corduroy came through the door! Then it was all screams and giggles! It was cute!

Overall the morning was a great success. It was a great reminder of how much I love working with kids, and why it is that I love writing for kids. Books play such an important role in a child's life at all ages. I hope one day a book that I write can become a part of child's life. But in the mean time, I had a great time kickin' it with corduroy!
